Selection of Executive Staff for 2011-12
Each fall, First Year Experience selects seven (7) students to serve as S.T.R.I.P.E.S. Executive Staff. These students have the opportunity to develop their leadership skills and make a personal impact on the S.T.R.I.P.E.S. program.
CAMPUS LIFE COORDINATOR: Oversees Student Services Tour, High School vs. College, Mock Lecture, Buddy Group Meeting - Mentors & Commitment to Community, College Connections, Information Sessions, Wellness, Campus Tour
CHAIR: Oversees the Executive Staff and S.T.R.I.P.E.S. program, Welcome, Alma Mater, Diversity Awareness, Buddy Group Meeting - Diversty, Passing the Torch, Closing Ceremony, Staff Awards
EVENT LOGISTICS AND HOSPITALITY COORDINATOR: Oversees Check-In/Check-Out, Floor Meeting, Late Night Activities, Fais Do Do, Tailgate Dinner
HISTORY AND TRADITIONS COORDINATOR: Oversees Extravaganza, Roll Call, Flag Presentation, S.T.R.I.P.E.S. Games, Tiger Tales, Quiz Bowl
MARKETING AND OUTREACH COORDINATOR: Oversees Small Group Meetings - Intro & Icebreakers and Last Meeting, Buddy Group Meetings - Intro & Icebreakers and Service Project, Oops! I Tweeted Again, Most Outstanding Buddy Group Recognition
STREAK LEADERS (2): Oversees Streak Meetings - LSU Cheers, Streak Cheers, and Personality Assessment, Small Group Meetings - Leadership Challenge and Blackout, Learning Strategie, Spirit in Sports, Spirit Recognition

To learn more about serving on the Executive Staff, interested students are encouraged, but NOT REQUIRED, to attend one of the following information sessions in Johnston Hall Conference Room 124:
- Tuesday, September 6, 2011 at 8:00 p.m. in Johnston Hall 124
- Wednesday, September 7, 2011 at 6:00 p.m. in Johnston Hall 124
- Thursday, September 8, 2011 at 3:00 p.m. in Johnston Hall 124
Requirements to be on the S.T.R.I.P.E.S. Executive staff are:
- Must be enrolled as a full-time student (12 hours) at LSU during the academic year
- Must be in good academic standing with the University
- Must have at least a 2.5 cumulative GPA
- Must not be on academic probation, disciplinary probation, or deferred suspension
- [ NOTE: Prior experience with S.T.R.I.P.E.S. is NOT required ]
General Expectations
- Serve as a positive representative of the University
- Attend executive staff retreat and all planning meetings
- Maintain confidentiality in communication, decision making, and other program processes
- Assist in the recruitment, selection, training and cohesion of student leaders
- Assist in the recruitment and registration of participants
- Promote S.T.R.I.P.E.S. by participating in all events sponsored by the Office of Orientation and the Office of Admissions
- Serve as a positive role model to student leaders and participants
- Assist in the coordination of all aspects of the program
- Abide by and enforce all S.T.R.I.P.E.S. and University rules and regulations
- Attend all events during S.T.R.I.P.E.S. except when setting up/cleaning up other events
- Assist with other duties as assigned
Additional Expectations
- Office Hours: Three (3) hours per week during the Spring 2012 semester
- Five (5) hours per week during the Summer 2012
- Reside in Baton Rouge for Summer 2012
Please note that the Executive Staff Application process includes a written application, interview, presentation, and group process.
Students interested in serving on S.T.R.I.P.E.S. Executive Staff should complete and submit the Executive Staff Application by Friday, September 16, 2011 to 125 Johnston Hall by 12 noon.
